The lightness series are works I've made in the summer of 2025. This year has been filled with a darkness and a heaviness, and some profound feelings of hopelessness. In response, and perhaps rebellion to that I set off to engage in some creative play and see if I could find the hope, and joy and lightness that's been feeling scarce. Spelunking for joy if you will. Many pieces were made, and cut apart and remade until I ended up with 10 messy manifestations of the joyful spirit that resides in all of us, even when it's hard to find.
